Haphazardly wrapped aluminium foil partially encloses this particular harbinger… (trying and failing to use “shrinkwrap” modifier, but after experimenting for a while it was pretty close.)

This is what I’m going to put on the box for the butterflies. (: (sorry, I just can’t resist… so many puns…)

It’s coming for you!!

Yeah, uh, the first weapon. Planning to connect the legs more thoroughly to the knife but not quite sure about the best way to go about it just yet.

Wireframe again, with wings and at another weird angle so you can see the head and legs more clearly. (Although, they are pretty minimalistic… er)

I was advised to post more WIP things (rather than just completed stuff) so here I go!

This is uh, the body of a butterfly (rendered in wireframe) for 3D modelling class. It’s gonna be made out of chocolate. Delicious!!

My idea is to have a bunch of individually available butterflies all wielding different types of butterfly-related weaponry (butterfly knife, butterfly bomb, etc.). Originally just a lame pun, I then found this cool little snippet on Wikipedia:

“The butterfly was sometimes depicted with the maw of a jaguar and some species were considered to be the reincarnations of the souls of dead warriors. The close association of butterflies to fire and warfare persisted through to the Aztec civilisation and evidence of similar jaguar-butterfly images has been found among the Zapotec, and Mayan civilisations.”

Which, uh, totally makes it more fitting. Heh heh heh…

Anyway, back to work on that darned proboscis. (I am also considering what would be easy to mould from chocolate, as opposed to scientific accuracy, if you’re wondering why it’s a little lump rather than a proper tube thing)
